About the Role
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the successful candidates will perform the following responsibilities below:
• Provide advice in the planning, execution, reporting, and analysis of various funding streams.
• Analyze, review, identify accounting problem areas, and develop solutions to improve operating program effectiveness.
• Maintain operating accounting systems, including support related to financial management, financial and program analysis, on-going financial reporting, and documentation of policies and procedures.
• Perform reconciliation of spent plans to actual obligations.
• Track and analyze financial performance measures to monitor overall agency performance. Conduct financial analyses and audits for foreign and/or domestic businesses.
• Review, analyze and validate industry financial data.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies in reported data.
Requirements
Minimum of two years experience; CDC or other HHS OpDiv’s experience is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or a graduate degree of approximately three years of related work experience.
Knowledge of FAR, and Generally Accepted Account Principles (GAAP).
Organizational skills with keen attention to detail and documentation; ability to multi-task and seek assistance from senior managers.
Strong written/verbal communication, problem solving, organizational and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork.
