About the Role
VAAS Professionals is seeking a Public Health Analyst to provide technical and analytical assistance to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention/National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD). Its mission is to provide national leadership, public health and scientific expertise and support programs related to immunization activities. NCIRD works to prevent disease, disability, and death in children and adults through vaccination. To achieve this mission, NCIRD strives to:
Eradicate, eliminate, or control vaccine-preventable disease in the U.S. and globally.
Raise and sustain vaccine coverage levels for all populations for all recommended vaccines.
Implement new vaccines effectively by identifying and disseminating effective approaches and recommendations.

Conduct reliable scientific research.
Provide scientific leadership in vaccine-preventable disease control and delivery of vaccines.
The Public Health Analyst will provide research support, which includes quantitative and qualitative data analysis and monitoring and program evaluation. You will utilize statistical software packages to manage, maintain and analyze large, complex statistical databases.
The Public Health Analyst will provide on-site support of the following tasks:
Assist awardees and federal authorities with data collection, analysis, and review of data collected so that it can be used to support awardees and enhance program performance.
Provide research, analytic, and administrative support in the preparation and submission of technical reports, manuscripts, commentaries, evaluation proposals, policy statements and recommendations, bibliographies, presentations, publications, and other documents or materials.
Develops original computer code and programs for the application of new mathematical and statistical theories for the solution of proposed problems related to various scientific studies.
Enters/verifies data fields and data dictionaries. Performs descriptive and missing data analyses. Applies a variety of data reduction techniques, tracks/documents all modifications, errors and changes to all databases and decisions.
Provide assistance with other Immunization Services Division program activities.
Provide Monthly reports detailing progress of active tasks.
Requirements
Qualified candidates should meet the following requirements:
Must be an experienced professional with a Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration/Policy, Statistics/Biostatistics
At least 3 years of documented experience as a public health analyst at/with CDC, federal or related public health entities
Experience in analyzing statistics and interpreting information
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and expertise with PowerBI
Knowledge of mathematical and statistical theory and its application to many scientific fields
Experience with SAS, R, SPSS and other statistical software packages
Or
A bachelor’s degree in health, science, policy, statistics/biostatistics or related field with at least 5 years of experience public health analyst at/with CDC, federal or related public health entities
Ability to cooperate collaboratively in a team environment and independently
Experience in analyzing statistics and interpreting information
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and expertise with PowerBI
Knowledge of mathematical and statistical theory and its application to many scientific fields
Experience with SAS, R, SPSS and other statistical software packages
