Our Practices
Our business functions are divided into two primary business practices: Commercial Practice and Government Practice.

Our Commercial Practice couples a variety of business and financial services specifically tailored to individual taxpayers and small business owners - new and seasoned. We work with individuals as financial consultants to deliver standardized solutions to help broaden personal economic understanding and build strong financial acumen.

Within our Government Practice, we build teams of capable talent to meet federal and other government-related agencies' needs. We deliver services within our four pillars: Financial Management, Business Management, Technical Consulting, and Professional Support Services.

MEET OUR TEAM
STEVE JULAL
Founder and Principal
Steve S. Julal is the Principal and founder of VAAS Professionals LLC. Julal has consulted with small to large sized businesses and federal agencies with respect to their financial, management and business needs.
​
Julal received his B.S. in Accounting and MBA in Finance from Oral Roberts University. Serving as board member on several councils, Julal remains an active member of local professional organizations such as The National Black MBA Association, 100 Black Men of Atlanta and the Nationals Contract Management Association.
SOPHIA SIMON
Firm Administrator
Sophia Simon holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Northern Caribbean University in Jamaica and a Master of Science in Global Studies and International relations with a concentration in international consulting from Northeastern University.
She is currently the Firm Administrator, where she serves as the primary contact and resource for clients, employees, and external associates. Sophia has several years of experience in the administrative and operations field supporting top level managers and organizations, which she leverages at VAAS professionals to provide practical and logistical support.
ASHLEY GONSALVES
Marketing & Communications Director
Ashley couples her communications and design background with management skillsets to oversee the initiatives of the Marketing and Communications department. She holds a B.A from The University of Georgia in Communications Studies, and a M.B.A from Clark Atlanta University with a concentration in Marketing and Market Designs. Ashley brings with her years of corporate relations and market planning experience, in which she leverages to manage the brand identity of VAAS Professionals. Her team is responsible for all internal and external communications, and the creation and delivery of informative content for both the commercial and government sectors of the business.

As a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she shares a passion for uplifting her community and giving back to those in need. Additionally, Ashley enjoys entertaining her Atlanta community as an Atlanta Hawks Dancer.
JOYCE HARRIS
Federal Government Relationship Executive
Joyce is an award winning executive with over 40 years of experience in program management, supplier diversity and small business programs. For more than 20 years, she served in leadership roles for a Big 4 firm where she led and supported programs to optimize small & disadvantaged business participating across the US. Joyce’s performance has been frequently heralded through awards from Federal agencies. In addition to her deep knowledge of Federal government programs, Joyce is also well known for her outstanding client relationship skills with senior government officials.

Joyce is passionate about serving others and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Southern Prince George County Community Charities, Inc., and past board member of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington DC. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and past recipient of the prestigious Ellen Gabriel Fellowship at Columbia University.
MARK MCCLINTOCK
Business Development
Having extensive technical sales experience in various business & partner development roles, Mark joined the VAAS Pro team to help grow sales operations in the Government sector. Mark graduated from Austin Peay State University with a degree in Business Administration in 2003, and from American Intercontinental University with a Marketing MBA in 2012. Throughout his working tenure, Mark has positioned physical hardware equipment, software solutions, and managed services to consumers and businesses alike.
Mark is responsible for building relationships, educating on the value and expertise VAAS brings to Government entities, and identifying contract opportunities within select DOD branches, HUD and the USDA specifically. Mark resides in Greater Atlanta.
MARY WALKER
Senior Public Health Advisor
Ms. Walker is a senior industry consultant with more than twenty-five years of successful execution in the healthcare and IT market building business strategy for growth, developing client relationships and leading alliances for business growth with large and small business collaboration.
She is a researcher and publisher in population health and immune suppressed diseases. As executive on loan to HIMSS, Ms. Walker led the establishment of a Public-Private Partnership with HIMSS, Health and Human Services (Office of Minority Health), to build and launch collaborative and nonprofit. She was one of the founding members and former board member of Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform (TIGER) a leading nursing informatics organization now a 501 3c within HIMSS. Currently she is a consultant to both large and small businesses.
SARAH TEKLEAB
Program Manager
Sarah completed her BA in Psychology at Emory University, and went on to work in a cancer research lab, focusing on cancer metastasis. After her time in the lab, Sarah transitioned her work to the field of higher education and outreach while completing her Master of Public Policy at Northeastern University.
She went on to work as a Public Policy Analyst, consulting State, Local, and Federal departments and agencies in a variety of fields, including healthcare, education, and city planning. Now Sarah brings her unique background and skills to VAAS Professionals, serving as the Program Manager on all CDC contracts.
RAMONA HENDERSON
Tax Consultant
With more than ten years of experience in a variety of bookkeeping, staff accounting, and senior level accounting functions, Ramona joined the firm as a Tax Consultant assisting small business clients with financial readiness and individuals with tax preparations.

At VAAS Professionals, Ms. Henderson works alongside our Senior Tax Consultant to prepare taxes for individuals and small businesses. Quickbooks is her speciality and devotes one-on-one attention to each client and their books. She ensures all books are balanced and accurate, and helps client's understand their existing financial landscape.
Ramona demonstrates strong character and work ethics with a commitment to excellence.
MILTON WILLIAMS
Senior Accountant
Milton Williams holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bethune-Cookman University and also has a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Georgia State University. With over five years in the accounting industry working in both corporate and public accounting, Williams has extensive experience in taxation and financial reporting.
At VAAS Professionals, Milton works with our tax clients to prepare taxes for businesses and individuals to help build strategies that increase their tax savings. On the financial reporting side, he finds constructive solutions for spending, budgeting, and cash flow to boost clients cost effectiveness and profitability.
FAHMY OMAR SHERIF
Business Financial Analyst
Fahmy Omar Sherif is a Business Financial Analyst from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the illustrious Clark Atlanta University and is in current pursuit of his Master's of Science degree from Louisiana State University. Fahmy, although just beginning his career, has a huge passion for finance and plans to continue his journey beyond his masters.
At VAAS Professionals, Fahmy works with our Commercial and Government teams providing research support and analytical insights.
ALYCIA BARTNESS
Administrative Assistant
Alycia Bartness began her career at VAAS Professionals as an Administrative Assistant intern and accepted her position in early 2023 as an Administrative Assistant. As an Administrative Assistant, Alycia works directly with the Director of Operations, to ensure all behind the scene duties are fulfilled. Her duties include coordinating events, scheduling weekly meetings, booking travel for the management team and federal employees, onboarding new employees, and other related tasks.
Alycia is currently pursuing a BBA at Georgia State University with an expected graduation date of December 2023. After college Alycia wants to expand her knowledge within the Government space and obtain a position within our Government Department.
LAKISHA BUTLER
Operations Manager
Lakisha Butler has an extensive background in Public Health. Her love for Public Health prompted her to pursue a career with the Center for Disease Control where she has spent the last ten years working as a CDC contractor. Within the first seven years, she was a Program Analyst II supporting CSELS and served on the emergency response team for COVID-19. During those three years, she served as a Health Communications Specialist, making sure the public had up to date information about COVID-19.
During her time with the COVID Response Team, she supported four jurisdictions in the Midwest and ensured the receival of information, support, and vaccines to disseminate to their communities. Being on the response and being directly a part of keeping the public safe has been the most rewarding part of her career.
Lakisha received a Challenge coin for her participation in the response, which she values immensely.
