We are seeking an experienced Budget Analyst to provide a broad range of support to one of our federal clients.


Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Background Investigation. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Total compensation and benefits consist of:

About the Role

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the successful candidate will perform the following responsibilities including but not to be limited:

  • Provide Budget Analysis with knowledge in federal budget processes and grants funding management

  • Utilize census data to estimate the size of the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program-eligible population for the annual population estimates.

  • Utilize grant funding formulas to determine immunization grant recipient funding levels

  • Provide support for development of the management system and cooperative agreement applications

  • Analyze, interpret, and project budget data

  • Prepare reports on the status of funds and trends for current grantees

  • Assist with grants management, which includes conducting trend analysis of immunization grant recipient operation spending over time versus awards and identify problem areas

  • Assist branch and division staff to update grant funding formulae as needed

  • Assist in financial reconciliations to include assessing and reviewing the accuracy of data entered into financial systems and spending plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts/science or related field and three years minimum of Budgeting experience Particularly in budget execution at an agency or a state or local governmental office

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, and able to organize, prioritize, and carry out multiple tasks independently per deadlines

  • Ability to be flexible, embrace change, analyze, and address challenges

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and follow-up skills

  • Demonstrate maturity, tact, and the ability to keep an elevated level of confidentiality

  • A positive can-do attitude and composure under pressure are critical

  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft’s full Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) -  Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
